One will need some serious backup of long warranty for such gaming monster with possibility of part failure any time around.

I think you should rethink about some of the specifications,IF its customizable
like:- BlueRay,(320x2) HDD consider a single one,and till this date 4gb RAM is more than enough

no customize option from dealer as he told me that they are already in his shop . So he told me if you wanna buy then buy it else no further discussion

Truth being told I already have a very high end desktop with dual monitors, SLI'd GTX 280s, M-audio et al. all working fine so I don't need to upgrade. Unfortunately, nileshlog - I already have a big *** TV that I use with an HD player. (Sorry, if that sounded like boasting, I was just clarifying my budget).

Coming from a working class background, owning an Alienware was some what like a dream to me ever since it was launched way back in 1996. I am sure many agree with me on that. (the dream bit)

The 8 gigs of ram is for Win 7 ultimate and I do a lot of work on sound and video as a hobby as I also have a rock band

My Dell Inspiron 9300 is old now and I wanted a change.


Agreed - it's an expensive change, but all I needed to know was that if the laptop was worth it or not
and yes, the monster weighs a good 6.5 kilos. I'll be impotent even before you know it, once it sits on my lap. LOL !

I think the cost on the higher side
2 lac would have made this a better deal.
I think the Brand "Alienware" itself costs 10k.
