FM transmitter now available on N78. Just in case you don't know already… You can now use your FM transmitter on N78. This wasn't available when the handset was launched by Nokia. FM Transmitter allows you to transmit music from the device to the radio over a short distance. There isn’t any wires connecting the two together and it is simple to set up and use. You can tune in your car radio to the frequency set on the N78 and can start the music player as you normally would and music begins to come through the car speakers (or radio speakers). read this review, its quite informative - http://talkaboutnseries.com/2008/07/12/ ... ic-part-4/

Oh cool! there are very few phones with "good" brand names with that fm transmitter.

What does this mean BTW? Did they include the transmitter after a certain date?
Call me katsumoto or katsu, the name makes me nostalgic.

N78 always had the FM transmitter but it was not included in some models sold in some countries

However, users from France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, and Italy are reportedly not going to have this feature built-in with their Nokia N78 units. The reason being that having an unregistered transmitter is against the law in certain countries.

it's disappointing that ppl start debating without knowing about the subject

FM transmitter was always available in N78. The only reason it wasn't available in India was because when it was launched a few countries including India considered it illegal to operate radio transmitters without a license. As absurd it may seem that was the case. Now i guess that's been worked out and a user can basically stream music with car stereo. That's what it's about. Hope it's clear now . as i user i feel its a cool development.

.as far as use is concerned its quite subjective.

.one can even debate use of a mobile phone or camera for that matter

Hi Friends- I bought a N78 2 days back. It does not have FM Transmtr. I did a software update but could not find the FMT(the Music folder contained only Player/Store/Podcasting/Radio). Can you tell me which update has the FMT and how do I get it? Thx!

after having the firmware update, you may need to get the settings checkd at nokia's care center. atleast that's what i had to do, in case its appearing, you can roll with it.

here's a demo by a user.
