Help required for purchaing Cabinet

Postby varunnagwekar on Sun Aug 01, 2010 7:41 am

Hi guys,

My question is a very simple one. All I need to do is buy a cabinet. But I don't know which ones are good and which ones to buy.

I have the following components
GFX card 4870 HD,
2GB ram,
3 Hard disks,
1 DVD writer
Sound card
Tugen SMPS (which is so huge compared to a normal Rs.300 smps!)

My budget is somewhere upwards of 2k but definitely less than 8-10k. If the recommended cabinet is really expensive, could you please also tell me why is it so and what are the features it provides?

I would really appreciate any help provided,
Thanks,
Varun.

My recommendation too is NZXT Gamma.
Links to their specification :
NZXT Gamma -> Click here
Cooler Master Elite 430 -> Click here
Both the cabinets are similar in terms of VFM.
So take your pick which appeals you the most.

EDIT: Thanks GTX_OC :)

if you want to go something better than the above mentioned cabinet then you can check these out:-
CM 690 : 4.4K
CM 690II : 5.4K around
they have better airflow & better cable management!!!!

Maybe NZXT Tempest Evo will be best choice if he is willing to spend ~5.5k

Meh, get the gamma/430 and use the rest to get a better SMPS. (The Corsair VX450 for 3.7k/ Seasonic S12II 430W for 3.2k should do)

1- Sorry for the spelling mistake, I've got a Tagan SMPS, its 500 Watts.
2-I checked out the NZXT Gamma. but somehow I didn't like its looks. I am sorry if it sounds stupid, but I felt it's shape a little weird
3- I've checked out the CM 430 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1Zg55z_ANs). I liked the case and the fact that it's only 2.7k.
4- I've checked out the CM 690 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yhxw1DcAQo)
5- And the CM 690 II, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGvBjEmXJnI) (Difference of 1k from CM 690 is not much if it is totally worth it)
but between the three cooler masters, I am finding hard to understand the difference, advantages/disadvantages. May be you guys could explain me the difference.
5- I am also very impressed by the NZXT Tempest Evo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zrqZFgU4a0)

So basically, I am equally confused as what to get out of the 4 options. Please help me decide. If there are any other options, please suggest me those too!

Thanks

If its the tagan, then your PSU is fine.
Regarding the case, i dont think you would need anything more than the elite 430 but if you plan to get a better and faster rig (and overclock) then the NZXT Tempest EVO is a better option.

I've asked around the rate of the CM 690 II, its around Rs.4100 in Vashi. (Though some are quoting as high as RS.6400!!)

I've asked for NZXT Tempest Evo too, but there seems to be no availability of it. So, before I make the final purchase on Sunday, i would like to know whether there are any other options...

4.1K one is the regular one without the side window. there are two edition in the 690II - Advance & Plus one is for 6K (w/ side window) & other one is for 5.4Karound(with side window). for for the lesser one.
if your open to buying online then you can buy it from http://www.smcinternational.in
